Demon Dog (Mojo Mysteries 2)

Book 2 in the re-published Mojo Mysteries series is now up! Exciting 😀 If you read the original book, there’s really no need to buy it again. Nothing much has changed. If you haven’t read it, now’s your chance! It’s based on a true story! At least M. swears it was true. I make no judgements.

One hell of a dangerous mystery.

Three years after solving the hundred-year-old murder case that brought them together, Greg Woodhall and Adrian Broussard have settled into life together in the colorful college town of Chapel Hill. Adrian’s doctorate research and Greg’s two jobs keep them busy, but they have each other and life is good.

When Greg’s part in a local theater production leads to a chance to help with a paranormal investigation of the historic Playmakers Theater, Greg jumps at the opportunity. The idea of helping the Bay City Paranormal Investigations team—owned by Adrian’s dads—investigate the theater’s rumored spirits excites him.

No one expects the real action to happen at DogOpolis, the hot dog place where Greg works part-time. Who ever heard of a haunted fast food joint? But the entity they encounter there poses a danger not only to Greg, but to Adrian and the people they both love. It’ll take all their combined talent to solve this mystery and stop the thing plaguing DogO before it stops them. Permanently.

Love, Like Ghosts (Mojo Mysteries book 1)

Love, Like Ghosts (Mojo Mysteries series book 1) is now available for purchase from all the usual vendors. Yay! For those of you who remember, this book was first published back in 2009 as the last book in the BCPI series. Now, I’ve decided that it’s going to start off the new and improved Mojo Mysteries series! I love this book (and my boys) and I’m excited to have it back out in the world 🙂

Truth. Lies. A century-old mystery. What a tangled web…

At age eleven, Adrian Broussard accidentally used his mind to open a portal to another dimension. Now, ten years later, he’s successfully harnessed his strong psychokinetic abilities. In the process, he’s learned the lessons which have become the guiding principles of his life. Absolute truth. Absolute control. Always.

Sticking to his personal code of ethics has never been a problem, until two chance meetings—one with a hundred-year-old ghost, one with a handsome, living man—turn his orderly existence upside down.

Having grown up in a family of paranormal investigators, Adrian is intrigued by the spirit of Lyndon Groome and determined to solve the mystery of his death. Greg Woodhall, however, affects Adrian in unpredictable ways. His touch challenges Adrian’s hard-won control over his abilities, and his company becomes a light in Adrian’s lonely life.

As the mystery surrounding Lyndon’s death turns sinister, Adrian’s relationship with Greg deepens into something serious. Something Adrian wants to keep. But intimacy isn’t as easy as honesty, and when the heart’s involved, the line between right and wrong becomes as vague as a ghost.

Closer (Bay City Paranormal Investigations book 4) is here!

Closer (Bay City Paranormal Investigations book 4) is now available for purchase from all the usual vendors. Happy birthday to me, yay!

Dreams don’t always come true. But sometimes, nightmares do.

After nine months of tumult, Sam Raintree is ready for some peace and quiet. A beach vacation with his boss and lover, Dr. Bo Broussard, promises to provide the serenity they both need. Without the usual tensions to distract them, Sam hopes he and Bo will be able to reconnect in a way they haven’t in a while. Bo’s business and his children command a great deal of his time, and Sam’s looking forward to two weeks of Bo’s undivided attention.

A new case for the Bay City Paranormal Investigations team puts a crimp in Sam’s plans for a peaceful vacation. Fort Medina, a seventeenth-century citadel guarding the mouth of Mobile Bay, is less than five miles from their vacation beach house, and Bo invites the group to stay with them while investigating the place. Bo promises not to get involved, but Sam knows better. Sure enough, Bo joins the investigation on the second night, and talks Sam into doing the same.

Events take an alarming turn as Bo begins to change, his behavior becoming more erratic each day. Puzzled and frightened, Sam scrambles for an explanation while the man he loves turns into a volatile and unpredictable stranger. When the truth comes out, it may already be too late to save Bo from a force neither of them can control.

Twilight (Bay City Paranormal Investigations book 3) is live!

Twilight, book three of the Bay City Paranormal Investigations series, is now available for purchase from all your favorite vendors. Yay! Stay tuned for pre-order information on book four, Closer, as soon as I have a cover and get the book formatted. Thanks for reading!

In the twilight shadows, nothing is what it seems. And not all the monsters have claws.

While leading an amateur ghost-hunting expedition in Asheville, NC, Bay City Paranormal is called to investigate Sunset Lodge, a rustic inn situated on a remote Smoky Mountain peak. In recent weeks, employees and guests alike have seen a weird, frightening creature in the forest near the Lodge. A creature which sounds all too familiar to the BCPI team.

Sam Raintree doesn’t want to deal with another interdimensional gateway. The last one they faced nearly took the life of Sam’s employer and lover, Dr. Bo Broussard. Sam can’t stand the thought of it happening again. Especially now that he and Bo are finally together and working through their problems. But Sam’s psychokinetic abilities give him the power to permanently close the gateways, and he can’t bring himself to ignore that. With the safety of the Sunset Lodge staff and guests at stake, Sam, Bo and their colleague, Dean Delapore, make the trip to the Lodge to determine if it indeed hosts a portal to another dimension.

At the beautiful and remote Sunset Lodge, a missing man, a grisly discovery, and a moment of carelessness converge to reveal secrets much different – and far uglier – than any the BCPI team expected. Secrets which not only put their lives in danger, but which might provide Sam with an escape from the portals. If he’s willing to take it.

What Hides Inside available for purchase

Facing an alternate-reality horror: potentially deadly. Facing their own secrets and lies? Much worse.

In his first fateful week with Bay City Paranormal Investigations, Sam Raintree learned he’s psychic and possesses the power to open interdimensional portals, and accidentally set loose an unimaginable horror. As if that wasn’t complicated enough, he also began a relationship with his boss, the firmly closeted Dr. Bo Broussard.

Three months later, Bo’s wedding ring is off, but he isn’t ready to come out. Sam, tired of hiding, can hear their fragile new relationship creaking under the burden of secrets. Cracks appear when Bo hires Dean, a new investigator who’s bisexual, out, and openly interested in Sam. During an intense investigation into the mysterious disappearance of three students from South Bay High School, Bo’s stubbornly cold shoulder leaves Sam hurt, confused, and questioning whether they have any real chance of a future together. Especially when Dean presents a tempting option.

As he wonders if he should continue the fight for Bo’s love, the team discovers disturbing parallels between South Bay High and Oleander House. Sam pushes his newfound psychic abilities to the limit—until an eruption of nightmarish proportions threatens to take the decision out of his hands. Permanently.

Oleander House 2nd edition, now live

Oleander House (Bay City Paranormal Investations series book 1) is live! Yay! At the moment is’s only available on Amazon, Smashwords, and Kobo. Other major channels should be up soon. I’ll update the links on the book’s page as they go live.

I wanted this book to be free on all channels, but Amazon won’t let me do that. So if you want a free Kindle-compatible copy, you can get one from Smashwords. Then if you don’t mind taking an extra minute, head over to Amazon and report a lower price on the book. A few reports ought to get them to make it free.

I’m super excited to get this horror-flavored romance back out in the world. Book 2 in the Bay City Paranormal Investigations series, What Hides Inside, will be up for pre-order very soon, so stay tuned.

When Sam Raintree goes to work for Bay City Paranormal Investigations, he expects his quiet life to change. But he doesn’t expect to put his life and sanity on the line, or to fall for a man he can never have.

Sam Raintree has never been normal. All his life, he’s experienced things he can’t explain. Things that have colored his view of the world, and of himself. So taking a job as a paranormal investigator seems like a perfect fit. His new co-workers, he figures, don’t have to know he’s gay.

From the moment Sam arrives at Oleander House, the site of his first assignment with Bay City Paranormal Investigations, nothing is what he expected. The repetitive yet exciting work, the unusual and violent history of the house, the intensely erotic and terrifying dreams that plague his sleep. But the most unexpected part is Dr. Bo Broussard, the group’s leader. From the moment they meet, Sam is strongly attracted to his intelligent, alluring boss. It doesn’t take Sam long to figure out that although Bo is married to a woman, he is very much in the closet, and wants Sam as badly as Sam wants him.

As the investigation of Oleander House progresses and paranormal events in the house escalate, Sam and Bo circle warily around their mutual attraction, until a single night of bloodshed and revelation changes their lives forever.

Warning for graphic violence and disturbing dream images.

Big Gay Fiction Giveaway, Spring 2017

It’s that time again, everyone: time for the Big Gay Fiction Giveaway! A whole bunch of gay romance authors — both exciting new voices, and some of the best authors in the genre — are giving away their novels, novellas, and short stories for FREE via InstaFreebie. I’ve gone and claimed my freebies, believe me *g*

This time around, I’m giving away my contemporary romantic comedy, The Happy Onion, previously published by Samhain Publishing. I’ve done a bit of re-editing, and it has a shiny new cover by my talented artist hubby Brent Brown, but the story’s basically the same. If you’ve never read it and you’d like to, now’s your chance to read for free. The giveaway lasts through May 29. After that, I’ll be self-publishing the book far and wide.

Stop by the Big Gay Fiction Giveaway this week to pick up as many free gay romances as you can handle. Then be sure to stay tuned to my website — or sign up for my newsletter — for news about my future titles.

Ally Jumps Into Self-Publishing

Yep, you heard right. I’ve taken my three homeless short stories (from the closing of Wilde City Press) and created an Ally-only anthology called Loose Stories. It’s already up on Amazon. I’ve loaded it on B&N and Kobo, though it’s not live yet, and am trying to work out how to get it on iTunes. I’m also planning to load it on Smashwords. So, hopefully it’ll be available on all the major channels soon. These little stories are nothing heavy, just fun, sexy romance with their own odd twists. Hope y’all enjoy!

A demon, a cowboy, and a villain walk into a book. And live Happily Ever After.

A demon with a magic butt and a price on his head.

An interplanetary cowboy with the most valuable plot of land in the galaxy.

A designated Villain who only wants to make people happy, if he can get away with it.

Meet these characters—and the special men who learn to love them—in Loose Stories, a collection of three crazy, funny, surprisingly sweet tales of suspense, adventure, and romance.

These stories have been previously published in three separate multi-author short story anthologies. They are collected here together for the first time.

Buy on Amazon.

Goodbye, Samhain books

For anyone who hasn’t heard yet, Samhain Publishing is closing its doors at the end of February. Which means that the majority of my books will no longer be available for sale. I’m a little freaked out about it, to be honest. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with those books. Most likely I’ll try to find homes for the majority of them at other publishers. A few, I might try to self publish, though that’s not my favorite option for a variety of reasons. We’ll see.

In any case, Samhain was the home of my second published novel, Willow Bend, they’ve been wonderful to work with all these years, and I’ll miss them. Thank you, Samhain, for everything. Much love.

Women in Horror Month Giveaway

February is Women in Horror Month. And in celebration of that, a bunch of female horror authors — including yours truly — are offering up a treasure trove of awesome free books and short stories. We have some amazing stuff up for grabs. I’m giving away my short story That Voodoo, including a bonus excerpt from my Lambda award finalist horror novel Down. The giveaway runs through the end of February. Go on over and get some fabulous, female-authored scary stuff!

No Small Parts – Now Available!

No Small Parts, book #16 in the Bluewater Bay universe, is now available in ebook and print from Riptide Publishing, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your other favorite third party retailers. I love my boys, and I hope y’all enjoy reading their story as much as I enjoyed writing it 🙂

Nat Horn is almost living the dream. His part as a werewolf extra on the hit show Wolf’s Landing has somehow turned into a regular role. Beautiful rising star Solari Praveen has taken an interest in him. He’s even making enough money to think about getting out of Bluewater Bay someday. Except his retired dad’s dependence on pain medications seems to be getting worse, and Nat’s the only one around to take care of him.

When Nat learns that Solari’s interest isn’t romantic, his disappointment is surprisingly short-lived, because in getting to know her, he also got to know her assistant, Rafael. And Rafael turns out to be the kind of friend—and potential boyfriend—Nat never dared to dream about.

Distracted by his astonishing new life, new friends, and new possibilities, Nat lets his guard down, and suddenly his life goes careening out of control. Racked by guilt, he tries to push his new friends away, but the bonds he’s formed are already too strong. In fact, they’re strong enough to pull him forward, into the future he’s been longing for—but to get there, he’ll have to let go of the past.

Giving Tuesday, Gatlinburg, and a free book

Hey, y’all. As you might have heard, the beautiful town of Gatlinburg, TN has been devastated by one of the wildfires burning in the Great Smoky Mountains. I’m heartbroken about this. I grew up on the Gulf Coast, but I traveled to Gatlinburg with my family as a child, and I’ve been there many times as an adult since I got married and moved to the Asheville area as a young woman. It’s more than just a tourist attraction. It’s a lovely, iconic place. It’s special to so many people, tourists and locals alike. My thoughts and my heart are with all those who have lost homes and businesses, and all the brave men and women fighting the fires right now.

There’s not much I can do, other than donate my little bits of money, clothes, food, and water. But right now, since Gatlinburg is on my mind and since today is Giving Tuesday, I want to give away a copy of my novel The Mountain, because it’s set in Gatlinburg, and I’m hoping that this will make at least a few people think about this beautiful town, and maybe inspire them to help support the people of the town and the firefighters working to save lives there.

If you want to be entered into the drawing, email me at ally AT allyblue DOT com (I’m sure you know how to format that for email). I’ll draw a winner of an electronic book copy tomorrow night, 11/30/16. Thank you!

No Small Parts available for pre-order

Something evil is going down in Atlanta…

Adrian Broussard and Greg Woodhall are attending OutlantaCon, Atlanta’s annual gay geek conference, and are looking forward to a weekend of cosplay and general nerdy fun. As they mingle with other conference goers, though, Adrian feels a strange, cold energy emanating from a man dressed as a satyr.

Encounters with storybook creatures roaming the streets only increase the chilly tendrils teasing Adrian’s sixth sense—strong enough to cause disturbing visions of Greg’s existence being erased.

When a girl at the conference goes missing, then turns up dead, clues literally drop in their laps as Adrian begins to fear the cold, alien energy is engulfing the whole city. And in danger of swallowing up his lover.

To Adrian’s horror, his worst nightmare is realized. Now both he and Greg must call on reserves of strength and resourcefulness they never knew they possessed to save Atlanta, and each other.

Warning: This book contains weird critters, Hell-Lanta, regular Atlanta, a creepy escalator, awesome cosplay geeks, temples that aren’t (but totally are), and liberal use of mojo mind powers.
